Every Year Dogs Love The Sea
TEO ESGUERRA
October 6 - 27, 2021
Featuring recent works, Teo Esguerra presents a compilation of his visual attempts to understand a dream he had three years ago, where he vividly remembers reading the words Every year dogs love the sea without knowing where the phrase came from or what it means. In this exhibition, Esguerra tries to respond and make sense of it by reflecting on the style and imagery that dominated his works.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Teo Esguerra (b. 1990) explores the beauty found in imperfection, impermanence, and transience. He uses vintage film equipment and a makeshift darkroom, resulting in misprints or markings that he embraces as part of his process. Esguerra received his BFA (Advertising) from Far Eastern University. He is currently undertaking his MFA at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
