ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Jomari T'leon (b. 1998) received his BFA in Advertising from the Technological University of the Philippines. His work integrates figuration and abstraction through scenes that inquire into themes about existentialism. T'leon's portrayals of people and places are usually set in subdued renderings, producing contemplative and dismal images to understand more about the living.

Lyndon Maglalang (b. 1993) engages in deliberate and careful representation of narratives through succinct depictions of landscapes, melancholic scenes, and figures that hint at human life. Maglalang’s poetic illustration of scenarios that rest neither in the past, present, nor future produces inward observations of reality. Often, his works are influenced by stories and parables, which allow Maglalang to portray contemplative images that complete the mise -en-scène. Maglalang graduated from University of Rizal System – Angono Campus as an Advertising major and was featured in exhibitions at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and recently at Art Busan in Korea.

Mapping the paths and tracks of what makes an individual, Lyndon Maglalang and Jomari T'Leon engage in a dialogue that responds to their inquiries on the contexts of existence. Presenting works that express these thoughts through dismal and intriguing renderings, the exhibition concretizes insights and observations about life's pre-determined or heedless trajectories.
