Goodbye to All That
INDY PAREDES
Indy Paredes’ (b. 1988) art practice is a close understanding of the physicality of Filipino urban culture, most especially the dynamics of living and creating in residential spaces and congested areas in the metropolis. He examines the interrelation of his perception of constructions in private and public spaces and his study of the individual’s ways of negotiating with these through experiential outputs in the form of large-scale and or site-specific sculptures and installations. His works have been exhibited in different galleries and art institutions, here and abroad, such as the Vargas Museum and the 2018 Gwangju Biennale. Paredes studied Fine Arts (Painting) at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France.
